The staff immediately found out his preferred interests and used these to introduce my son to the group and engage him in activities. They have since learned more about his existing knowledge and created activities specifically tailored to develop this knowledge further. The range of activities offered is constantly changing and they are topical, well designed and engaging. The staff are always enthusiastic, kind and caring and Ed is always excited to find out what he will be doing each day. “When we moved into Guilden Sutton in 2021, our daughter was attending a national chain nursery in Chester. She didn’t settle in the pre school room when she turned 3 and we found it to be very busy. Guilden Sutton Preschool was local and had a good reputation with links to the primary school. We had a show round with Charlotte and immediately had a fantastic feel about the place- it was friendly, warm and calming. We were unsure if term time only would work for us (both full time working parents), so our daughter started one day a week initially. She loved it- she would skip into Guilden Sutton preschool but would cry on the way to the nursery. After a couple of months of the dual setting approach we took the plunge and moved her permanently to Guilden Sutton pre school and seriously haven’t looked back. The team are incredible; so caring, so personal to each child and have a genuine passion for offering superior child care. Our daughter now attends five days a week being the happiest she’s ever been and we have made our work schedules fit. You won’t regret it!”

The staff ensure there is a ‘home away from home’ feel to the provision, taking great care into setting up interactive and engaging areas every day (despite being a pack-away preschool!). There is a fantastic ratio of adults to children, meaning my daughter enjoys lots of attention and personal investment. The staff have been totally open-minded and dynamic, always happy to chat and go above and beyond for the children here. They plan fun activities and upload these onto Tapestry so I can look through these and see all the amazing things my little girl gets up to. “Our son started preschool twelve months ago and after the first year, we feel that it is truly a lovely small setting with a very high quality of care and education. We really like how Guilden Sutton Preschool celebrates special occasions, helping children to learn about different events. The activities range from educational crafts and visits from special guests such as the fire crew, to creative outdoor play, walks, and trips to Delamere Forest. Our son always comes back with an interesting story or something he has made. Last week it was World Kindness Day and he came home with a rose for mum and told us about his walk around the village spreading kindness which was extremely cute. He has also made great progress with things such as writing and recognising his name. The communication from the preschool is excellent, we receive regular updates via Tapestry app, including details about skills our son has used and learnt. All events are communicated in advance through a newsletter, so we can prepare accordingly. We are truly grateful for all the wonderful care provided by the preschool staff. The team is so lovely, dedicated, and caring. The school has a strong community spirit, which makes it special and feel like home.”

Our daughter has been at preschool nearly a year now and has settled in really well. This is all thanks to the staff who are so kind, nurturing and thoughtful. Our daughter can be quite shy in unfamiliar settings but she has grown to love pre school life. She loves the activities, the variety of play and the friendships she has made and we can see her develop in confidence each week. It’s great that the pre school offers all sorts of opportunities, including weekly sport with Gary, outdoor classroom days, mini forest school, trips to the ice cream farm and Chester cathedral. I love how the school recognises current world issues including sustainability and biodiversity, even having its very own eco committee! All credit to the lovely staff of Charlotte, Abbie & Jane who make it all happen!
